The story so far

A food technologist from Cavite who believes safe food is a form of care.

Mary Joice R. Carasco
Hello there

I’m Mary Joice

I have always been curious about what happens to food before it reaches us: who checks it, how it is kept safe, and what it takes to get it right every single time.

That curiosity led me to a Bachelor of Science in Food Technology at Cavite State University in Indang, and straight into quality assurance in 2015. I started in the laboratory, running physico-chemical and microbiological tests on raw materials and finished goods, and I have been learning ever since.

Over eleven years I have grown from a QA officer into supervisory and leadership roles: a Lead Internal Auditor and Document Control Custodian, a member of a HACCP team, the person handling a company’s FDA product registrations, and most recently the head of a Quality Management Section in government.

In 2026 I became a licensed Professional Food Technologist through the Professional Regulation Commission, and earned my Career Service Professional eligibility from the Civil Service Commission, two milestones I am quietly very proud of.

What guides my work

A few things I believe

i.

Care is in the details

A missed temperature log or an unchecked supplier certificate can matter. I like to get the small things right so the big things take care of themselves.

ii.

Simple beats complicated

The best food safety system is the one people actually follow. I aim for clear forms, plain-language procedures and training that sticks.

iii.

Grow together

I have been a resource speaker for many in-house trainings. Helping a team understand the why behind the rules is some of the most rewarding work I do.

Beyond the job title

Where I feel most at home

I am just as comfortable in a hairnet on the production floor as I am across a table talking through a registration checklist. I have worked with manufacturers, traders and a national government bureau, and each one taught me something different about how food really moves from source to shelf.

I speak Filipino and English, and I am fluent in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, the everyday tools that keep documentation tidy and teams in sync.

Today I am based in Dasmariñas, Cavite, and I am open to working with food businesses that want to grow safely and do things properly.

Let’s talk

If any of this sounds like a fit, I’d love to hear from you.

Whether it is a registration you have been putting off, a HACCP plan that needs a fresh look, or a team that could use a friendly refresher, I am always happy to hear what you are working on. No pressure, just a conversation.
